COVID-19 antibodies fall “quite rapidly” after infection, say researchers at Imperial College London. 

More than 365,000 people in England took part in the REACT study, which analysed finger-prick tests carried out at home between 20 June and 28 September.

The number of people testing positive over that period dropped by 26.5%. 

The decline in antibodies was greater in those aged over 65, compared with younger people. 

As the amount of protection antibodies provide in not yet known, the researchers say it is possible to catch the virus multiple times.
