Care homes and COVID-19: Visiting rules in Scotland relaxed

Care home visitors in Scotland will be able to spend more time with loved ones in care facilities, as visiting rules in the region are relaxed

Indoor visits will last up to four hours and residents will be allowed to hold hands with their visitors.

Outdoor visiting will change, too, with up to six people from two different households allowed to visit for up to one hour.

Visiting will remain restricted in the Glasgow, West and East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, and North and South Lanarkshire council areas, which are currently subject to tighter COVID-19 measures.

We are very happy with this news and hope more care homes across the UK will soon be able to take similar steps to the ones made in Scotland. If you wish to visit a loved one in a care home and want to make sure you are COVID-19 free, our Fit4Visit testing is here for you.
